OCTOBER has been a very busy month for our club, it was Area Day on 4 October at the Chateau Impney were 20 of our club joined 600 other members from our area for a very memorable day filled with fun, flowers and a little bit of retail theory. Several of us went to Ross on Wye for demonstrators tests, I am sure we were as nervous as the people on stage, but always a chance to see what new demonstrators will be showing us soon.

Our club meeting was at Bishampton Village Hall on Wednesday 18 October where we were all ready for a demonstration by Nicky Heal from Bridgewater in Somerset. 37 members and 8 visitors were treated to many displays created by Nicky who was keen to show us varies ways of platting leaves and ferns, to give a more structured basis for his arrangements. Nicky told us he started flower arranging when he was just 3 years old watching his mother and has always liked to push the boundaries a little, he also explained that coming from Somerset there was always an opportunity to construct from willow, sheep and deer seemed to be the most popular, he had also created a wicker monk for a display in a Cathedral in Somerset. The Raffle was drawn and beautiful flowers left the hall with their new owners. Sheanagh reminded us to order our Christmas Lunch which will be held at the Dolphin in Bishampton on Wednesday 7 December and also our AGM on 18th January which will include a Fish and Chip Supper and our Quiz Master this year will be Mr Chris Parsons.

Our next meeting is our Open Meeting at No 8 in Pershore on Thursday 17 November it will be our Christmas Demonstration from Angela Turner who comes from Hampshire and her title will be “All is Calm All is Bright” Some tickets are still available from Debby Rowley on 01386 554019.
