ELEGANT Georgian Worcester was introduced to members and visitors by elegant Sandy Cale in costume including bonnet. Sandy is a tour guide for Worcester Walks and has on occasion been mistaken for Bo Peep rather than Elizabeth Bennett! This was our armchair walk around Worcester accompanied by excellent slides, snippets of history, and stories of Worcester’s past. Having filled two pages of A4 with notes I am making no attempt at a summary as I think this is a talk, whether armchair or touring you need to take for yourself. Also next time you are in Worcester don’t just look at frontages LOOK UP for architectural details – do remember to stand still first!

A short business meeting followed conducted by Sue and Jane. At the previous meeting a vote was taken regarding competitions as few people entered these will no longer take place monthly. Those present agreed. Next month there will be a raffle to raise funds for ACWW which supports women worldwide. In December we will be collecting gifts for Heathlands, further details next month. Future events lists and information leaflets were on display. The new Denman course brochure is available in booklet form from Jane and online
