IN July, Blockley Ladies choir, under their musical director, Rosie Marlborough, entered for the initial choral singing examination of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music and were awarded an 'A' Grade.

This was the first time such an exam had been entered and members of the choir were delighted with the results and celebrated with a superb end of year supper at the great Western Arms.

The choir has just launched a recruitment campaign with a leaflet drop around Moreton in Marsh and would especially like to hear from first and second sopranos. No voice test is necessary, an ability to read music would be desirable, but not essential.

The choir will be re-convening on Tuesday, September 6 at 7.30pm at Blockley Little Village Hall.
