WI ‘yarn bombs’ Ebrington

Ebrington was awash with colour recently, not just that provided by the spring

flowers, when the local Women’s Institute took part in a county-wide event WI event to decorate outdoor spaces in celebration of the Her Majesty the Queen’s 90th birthday.

Members took enthusiastically to the yarn bombing idea of using odd bits of wool and fabric to create pompoms, tassels and bunting and worked for several weeks to create sufficient items to decorate the oak trees in the Centre of the village, the school and village hall. Several members also decking out their individual front gardens.

The decorations were in place for the week of the birthday and for the Village Tea Party on the May Bank Holiday and were appreciated by locals and visitors alike.
