I THINK it fair to say that we have never laughed so much at one of our meetings! In April we welcomed Alan Brewer for his talk on ‘Up in the Clouds with Fluffy Bits’. Not knowing quite what to expect we were captivated from the start by his amusing tales of his career in the glamour days of air travel starting with BOAC and then BA. His cooking of ‘real’ meals for first class whilst up in the air – none of the little foil trays! He told us anecdotes of caring for royalty, dealing with politicians and pandering to stars of stage and screen. None of us shuffled and it prompted much discussion afterwards.

Trip wise we are looking forward to our morning at the BBC later this month, a day at Gloucester Docks in June and our afternoon tea on the river at Stratford upon Avon, for our Summer Party outing.
