“FOLDED in Dreams” was the intriguing title of a talk, which held members spell-bound at our January meeting. Professional musician Ted Watson shared a story of the coincidences which lead to the work of a little –known poet being set to music and performed by RSC actors. The purchase of poetry books written by E Margaret Buckle prompted Ted to compose a song cycle and to seek out the writer, a blind retired school mistress living in a Yorkshire village. His recitation of the beautiful poems, his explanation of how he composes a piece and the music itself was a wonderful start to our WI year.

Our 2016 programme was available and members were soon signing up for “A Saunter in the City” ( a guided tour of Birmingham), the Spring Council meeting at Pershore with the Royal Navy, a group meeting at Littleton and for the skittles team. There was also keen interest in craft workshops with some members willing to share their skills and others wanting to learn them. So a very busy year has started for our WI.
