ALTHOUGH the last month of the year, the ladies of Eckington WI have been busy up to the end. Our meeting in December was a celebration of tree dressing. Under the guidance of some of our talented ladies, we made a wide and eclectic range of decorations to dress our tree and to make Christmas cards; photos can be seen on our website and Facebook pages.

We also finished our collection of items for the local Food Bank; to mark the 100th Anniversary of the WI, we set ourselves a challenge in the last 3 months of the year to collect 100 items to take to the local Food Bank. Thanks to the generosity of our members we achieved our target and the items have now been donated.

Further celebrations of the season involved a Christmas Lunch at the Queen Elizabeth Inn at Elmley Castle and WI Carol Service at Hallow.

Our first meeting in January 2016 is a closed meeting for members only. However, we open our doors to visitors on Wednesday February 3 with a “Passion for Pearls”.
