FOR THE Annual General Meeting evening, a Centenary buffet Supper was provided and served by the committee, to the 28 members and two guests enabling them to relax and enjoy the friendship of WI.

Members were thanked for their help and many contributions to the teas served at Party in the Park, when £865 was made towards the total £7000 for village hall and church funds. Thanks were also given for the successful Centenary display show-casing the varied talents and interests of the WI. The special banner from this was displayed in the hall.

The Knit & Natter produced 160 squares; over the 100 aim, and sent off for African charities. The Knit & Natter will continue; stockpiling knitted items, hats, vests, toys squares etc for any future National Charity Appeals.

The skittles team are through to the Group finals and the promised dishwasher is in place in the hall ready for installation.

Pebworth in Bloom Chair Yvonne, jubilantly announced their Gold win this year, also a Gold for Pebworth First School and Pebworth Churchyard coming fourth in the Best Kept Churchyard competition. Orders for the ‘Pride of Pebworth’ Calender, showing local views were going fast.

The outing to Bath Christmas Market on Thursday, November 26 is fully booked.

During the AGM, Jacqui Salmon acted as teller for the eight committee nominations of Heather Fowles, Mary Harrison, June Haycock, Jenny McLeish, Jeanne Morris, Maggie Stedman, Gill Thomas and Veronica Watson. Jenny McLeish was elected as President and Mary Harrison secretary.

It was voted that the Denman bursary would cover the cost of a two day course, and the local charity to be the new Stratford Cancer and Eye Hospital appeal. The yearly competition winner was Pam Reay.

Prior to the buffet meal a hat making competition, from coloured bin bags showed some amazing and amusing creations which were paraded and photographed.

The November meeting will be Yvonne Cox first Female Paramedic in the County. Visitors welcome.
