ATTENDED the Evesham & District Older Peoples Forum meeting - interesting talk on "GAGA" a charity who are concerned about the plight of children in Africa, brilliant presentation by their Director.

I was privileged to open the Mop Fair - what a fantastic evening weather was just perfect, it was great to see everyone enjoying the "Hoppings"

(North East word for a Fair) - long may we see the this annual event coming to Evesham, My sincere thanks to Mr Danter who organisers this event the history of the Mop Fair makes interesting reading. I'm confident we will get over the problems we will come up against, when the Fire Station moves and is replaced by a Waitrose Store.

I was asked to present the awards to students at The De Montford School before the actual awards ceremony. We were welcomed by Mr G Nichols, Head Teacher we were treated to a Student Performances on the piano.

What a wonderful evening. These Students are Evesham's future and they all have my respect and I'm confident the respect also of our community.

I was invited to present awards to a large number of young (some very

young) with certificates and medals for achieving a set target over the summer holidays by reading at least six story books over that period, I asked myself how many of us read that amount of story books in a year.

Quite by chance I called into the Evesham & District Older Peoples Forum's exercise class the other day,I was amazed to see that these classes have increased tenfold, I recall that we first met to organize these classes some six years ago, "out of little acorns" the numbers attending is just fantastic thanks the loyal commitment of the EDPA's volunteers Jenny Johnson, Steve Reynolds and Jean Parlett - not forgetting the EDPA's management committee. the classes meet in Town Hall on a Monday and Thursday 10.30am to 11.30am.

On the 19th December I am along with Fran Webb organizing A Mayors Christmas Sparkle Event in the Market Sq from 11am to 5pm - I am hoping to have carol singers, country music, etc - so if there are any budding singers, dancers or Poets out there then please get in touch by telephone to Keeley 01386 444518 at the Town Council Office or email: Fred.kaler@btinternet.com with your details
