The July meeting was held at Peopleton Village Hall the speaker was Dr. Richard Curchley on The Folklaw Calendar. He was very entertaining and informative. He went through the year as it affected the rural and farming communities. Most of the dates have connection to the work on the land such as Beating the Bounds and Harvest . He also illustrated his talk with some lively music. He was thanked and then the Chairman continued with the notices etc. The day on the Severn Valley Railway was a big success, good weather and a lovely lunch. There are various extra events held throughout the month, a pub lunch on the first Wednesday and a coffee morning on the second Wednesday. There will not be a speaker for the August 26 meeting. Tea/coffee made by the ladies of the committee will be served as you arrive this will be free this month, followed by a Bottle tombola and then the raffle.
