NEPAL Disaster: Chipping Campden & District Rotary Club has raised around £3,500 (+ Gift Aid refunds) for the victims of the Nepal Disaster in April. The Club immediately sent two Shelter Boxes worth £1200 and organised a local appeal for further funds. These went to provide shelter kits of equipment to help people survive tough conditions after they had been rescued, but had lost most of their possessions.

Rotary International has its own partner charity organisation, www.shelterbox.org. The global support from the international Rotary network is the cornerstone that ShelterBox is built on. This partnership means that projects can be funded ‘in house’ without funds having to go through other charities, some of which have high administration costs.

President’s Valedictory Event: The final event of the 2014-2015 year, when the Club celebrated its 25th Anniversary, was a cruise on the "Countess of Evesham" on Thursday, July 2. The cruise with dinner was organised as a finale for the Rotary year as Adrian Grimes finished his year as president. Members and guests had an enjoyable dinner as the boat cruised from the Basin in Stratford’s Bancroft Gardens, up the river as far as Luddington lock and back again.

New members and enquiries are always welcome at our dinner meeting on Thursday evenings at 7 for 7.30pm. Membership is open to women and men. Call 01386 841244 for further details.
