AS ALL gardeners are aware it pays to plan in advance and our June speaker Ross Barbour gave members plenty of ideas and advice for a colourful winter garden. Ross presented pictures and beautiful designs of planting he did when Head Gardener at Ragley Hall which delighted everyone. Many varieties of snowdrops, crocus, tulips and other winter bulbs combined with a huge group of flowering shrubs were suggested for planting. It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening which had left members waiting in anticipation of the autumn catalogues which have now begun to fall on the mat. Our next speaker is Adrian James who is to take us on a magical trip to the Island of Lundy. This is a trip not to be missed so please join us on Tuesday, July 28 at 7.30pm at Wallace House, Oat Street. Visitors are welcome. Entry fee £3.
