THE July Meeting took place at the Bidford Methodist church. Julie welcomed everyone There were numerous visitors and a special welcome was given to a new member Shirley Trees.
Details of all future events and trips had been given in writing or by email to all members.
Julie reminded the meeting that our August event was the Vintage Tea Party on August 1 and that there were a few places still available.
The speaker for the evening was Angela Dyke – her talk Memories of Bidford. Angela had many photographs to illustrate her talk and they certainly showed the changes since the introduction of the new road. A map of the village in 1891 showed how small the village was in the late 19th Century.
Refreshments were enjoyed.
Our September meeting will be held on September 10, 7.30 at the Bidford Methodist Church. The speaker will be Gillian Crisp who will talk about the wonderful work of the Associated Country Women of the World and how the Warwickshire Federation of WIs have supported projects
