THE June meeting was the AGM. Prior to the General Meeting Chris Stockman of the West Midlands Ambulance Service and the British Heart Foundation gave a short talk on the importance of getting immediate help for anyone suffering with heart problems. He emphasised that although dialling 999 was the obvious number to ring for help, 112 using a mobile phone was equally important and has fast response. He had brought a defibrillator with him and demonstrated how easy it was to use. His talk was very well received and Chris was asked to come and give a longer talk at a later date.

Following the monthly announcements the Chairman gave details of the Christmas lunch to be held at the Berkeley on December 2.

Subscriptions were now due.

The Chairman reported that it had been an eventful year, enjoying days out, holidays and various functions. There were vacancies for more members to join us and all would be welcome.

Two committee members resigned and one new was elected. They were all thanked for their excellent work.

The Chairman was thanked for his unending dedication to the club ably assisted by his wife.

The next meeting will be on July 22 at Peopleton Village Hall 10.30am for 11am. The speaker will be Dr Richard Curchly on the Folklore Calendar. New members welcome contact 01905 458458.
