THE Forum held a Health Awareness Day at Evesham Town Hall on June 23 which was well attended.
There were exercise demonstrations, talks by a number of organisations including CAB, the Alzheimer's Café, the Carers' Association, Telecare and Sight Concern. Specsavers had a well-equipped stand and offered advice, information and free spectacle cleaning and also gave an excellent presentation on eye care which many visitors found extremely useful. Boots advised on skin care and various health conditions. There was an opportunity for neck and shoulder massage and plenty of information available at the AgeUK H&W and Care and Repair stands.
There was a chance to sample some delicious fruit, talk to the K2TOG group (the Forum's volunteer knitters) and to have some tea and biscuits.
Visitors were also able to talk to members of the Forum about the exercise classes for the over 60's which are held weekly on Monday and Thursday mornings at the Town Hall, as well as about the Forum's monthly meetings and the other activities it organises.
The next meeting is on Tuesday, July 28 at 1.30pm when there will be a talk about The Battle of Evesham.
Visitors are always welcome at these meetings.
