OUR May meeting was most enjoyable with a talk and tasting given by Charlie Beldam who is the local producer of Cotswold Gold, now a well known Rapeseed Oil, favoured by many of the celebrity chefs, including Raymond Blanc and James Martin. Charlie gave us an entertaining, informative and often humourous dialogue how the product came into being, including the frequency of Japanese visitors by the coach party, who find the yellow fields fascinating. We all enjoyed the tasting, and the diversity in the range of products was enormous. Fortunately all his products can be purchased in local delicatessens and farm shops. Our next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, June 24, at 7pm and is a garden visit to Norfolk House, Badsey Fields Lane, Badsey, the home of Mary Clarke and her family. The charge for this meeting is £3 and the club is giving a donation to a Parkinsons Disease Charity at Mary's request. Please note the earlier time, and bring a garden chair if possible. We look forward to welcoming all our members and guests, and pray for a fine evening.
