The January Meeting of Bidford on Avon WI was held at The Bidford on Avon Bowling Club. President, Shirley McAloon welcomed everyone especially Maud Handy and her daughter Carol. Maud had not enjoyed good health recently so everyone was especially pleased to see her.
Traditionally at the January meeting a wonderful three course meal prepared by the Committee is enjoyed with entertainment to follow. January 8 saw us keeping up with tradition. This was the first time our January meeting had been held at the Bowling Club and it was a great success.
Georgia Jacobs entertained. She sang accompanying herself playing not only the guitar but changing to the banjo, mandolin and dulcimer for different songs.
The meeting ended with cups being presented to the 2014 winners of the competitions and the raffle being drawn.
Our February meeting will be held on February 12 at 7.30pm at the Bidford Methodist Church. The speaker is Laurence Thatcher – his talk is Roman Alcester
