WE got together for our final meeting of the year on December 11 and Ann Evans dealt first with a few items of business. A clipboard was passed round and members selected their choices from the menu for our lunch at Broadway Golf Club in February. Ann Davis was congratulated for having won the most competitions during the year and was presented with a prize, and thanks were given to Pam Wills for collecting the Thrift each month. Members were generous in their gifts of festive 'treats' to go to Caring Hands and we all hope they will bring some seasonal cheer to the recipients.
As usual, our 'bring and share' supper provided a tasty selection of seasonal fare to choose from, cards were distributed, raffle prizes won and bran tub presents selected. A very enjoyable evening was had by all.
At our first meeting of the New Year, on January 8, Peter Wisbey will speak to us about the Talking Newspaper (and possibly recruit some new readers?) and on February 12 Sue Ablett will entertain us with a talk about the Waterways of Russia.
Visitors are always welcome at our meetings at the Hampton Guide and Scout Community Hall on the second Thursday of the month at 7.30 pm.
