THE November Meeting of Bidford on Avon WI was held at The Bidford on Avon Methodist Church. Jerusalem was sung and the President, Joan Churchley welcomed everyone especially a new member Monica McCann. Members were given written information about future events and classes being arranged by the Warwickshire Federation of WIs.and reminded that the WI would be making and selling mulled wine for the Turning on the Christmas Lights event on November 30. A special thank you was given to all those who supported the Bingo evening to raise money for the Leamington Rehabilitation Unit Brain Injury appeal.
The business of the Annual Meeting took place and Shirley McAloon was elected as President. A Ploughman’Supper was enjoyed and the evening ended with the competition winners being announced and the raffle being drawn.
Our next meeting will be at the Bidford Methodist Church on December 11 at 7.30pm.
As seen on BBC TV the speakers will be Sandy and Toni Lewis. They lost their son in action in Afghanistan and now have his dog Pegasus ( lovingly know as Peg ) who their son adopted whilst on active service. Yes, the dog is coming to the meeting! We would love as many people as possible to join us for this very moving evening. Do come.
Our January meeting will be held on January 8 at 7.30pm at the Bidford Bowling Club where we will enjoy a meal and entertainment
