RENOIR, Pissaro, Sisley, Cezanne, Manet, Monet and more.

They might just be a small blip in art history if it hadn't been for Gustave Caillebotte, The Forgotten Impressionist, as Nick Mason entitled his enthralling, illustrated talk at our October meeting.

A wealthy Parisian and excellent painter himself, Caillebotte supported his fellow artists and bought over 80 of their paintings which at his death were gifted to the French people, never to be sold, and now form the core of 'Impressionism' at the Musee D'Orsay in Paris.

21 members recently enjoyed a visit to The Waitrose Cookery Theatre in Cheltenham where the delightful Alison Haigh demonstrated and cooked 4 dishes for us to sample.

Our next meeting is our AGM and Members Night on Thursday, November 13 at 7.30pm in the WI Hall followed by coffee and a scrumptious selection of homemade cakes.

New members and visitors will be most welcome. Contact Jo on 01608 650821
