I WAS delighted and privileged this week to attend the Evesham High Annual Awards Ceremony.

I was asked to be the guest speaker on Monday night and talk about my life post leaving school 10 years ago. It was a pleasure to see some of my old teachers. Evesham High had a lot to celebrate on Monday and it’s wonderful to see the talent which is emerging from the school.

On Friday, I attended another Awards Ceremony. This time it was in recognition of some of the great fundraisers aiding the Bell Tower Appeal. This was the first round of awards and true to form there will now be a monthly awards ceremony (albeit an informal and laid-back affair). It just shows how brilliant the people of Evesham have been in rallying behind this campaign.

Lastly on Saturday morning, I went to an Indexathon at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This was a rather novel event which is regularly held by the church and one that has great importance, not only to them, but to all of us. The purpose behind the event was to index old records (some dating back to the 14th century) from across the world into electronic formats - meaning tracing your genealogy just got easier. So far, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, globally have processed over one billion records. You can find out more at www.familysearch.org"
