Our AGM was held on May 14 and we were pleased to welcome WI Advisor Sue Chilton to oversee the election of President and Committee. Sue gave a talk on the resolution regarding Organ Donation and the resolution was passed unanimously. Reports were given by the President and Secretary outlining the work of the committee during the past year and how our W.I. had fared during the year. We now have 57 members and are a thriving busy W.I. We have an art group, and embroidery group and a card making group under the guidance of some very good tutors. Our walking group has been hit with bad weather this year and rain has stopped walks many times. Our skittle team didn’t fare so well either in the two tournaments we entered but we hope to rectify that next year. Our holiday in York last year was a huge success and we hope to replicate that in October when we visit the Peak District. Our monthly competitions have been extremely well supported and the overall winner for the year was Judy Foster. The election of committee took place and 16 members were elected. From this number Jane Thompson was duly elected as our New President. To finish the meeting off we welcomed Will and John Dallimore who showed two of the very hilarious videos they have made, making sure this more formal evening ended on a happy and fun note.

We now look forward to a new year of fun, friendship and learning and wish our new President luck and enjoyment in her new role. We also thank our outgoing President, Stephanie Hartley, for all the hard work she put in during her term in office. Also thanks to our Vice President, Angela Gash who stepped into the breach when Stephanie was taken ill and carried on with the hard work.
