THE March meeting of Pershore Flower club was a night to remember. Our demonstrator was Nigel Whyles from Telford and the theme for his demonstration was The Bizarre World of Clarice Cliff’. Nigel entertained us with his witty chat and helpful advice.

Using the bright colours - so typical of the china of Clarice Cliff, Nigel enthralled us with his use of a variety of colours and each arrangement was accompanied by a piece of Clarice’s china to enhance the arrangement. Pinks, blues, reds and oranges were used in a mesmerizing way and the use of striking foliage and innovative accessories was amazing.

This had to be one of the highlights of our year, although we have already had some excellent speakers so far. Pershore Flower Club meets every third Wednesday of the month at Peopleton Village Hall at 7.30pm. We will be celebrating our 50th Anniversary in July and are planning a celebration dinner followed by a special flower demonstration to commemorate the day.

The art of flower arranging is something to be enjoyed by everyone. You don’t have to be an expert arranger to come along to our flower club. If you do the flowers at church or maybe like to buy flowers but don’t know what to do with them, then we may be just the thing for you. Our next meeting is Wednesday, April 16 when Sandra Snell from Ledbury will be demonstrating with a theme of Seasonal Delights. You don’t need to reserve a place, just turn up at Peopleton Village Hall and we will talk to you about joining our club or even coming along as an occasional guest. Everyone will be made most welcome.
