Man with drugs is cleared of dealing

A 43-YEAR-OLD man caught in Evesham with a stash of drugs has been cleared of dealing by a jury at Worcester Crown Court.

Paul Grant admitted possession of wraps of heroin and cocaine when he was seen by police in a park but denied intending to supply.

Grant, of Battleton Road, Evesham, was sentenced to a 12-month community order with six months’ supervision by the probation service. The jury found him not guilty of obstructing the police by climbing a fence to escape.

After the verdict, recorder Marcus Tregilgas-Davy said he wanted to help him conquer the addiction.
