A BRETFORTON man says he is distraught after being told the road outside his house, which he believes is unsafe, will not be resurfaced.

Five cars have crashed into Tom Wardle’s front garden over the past 22 months and he appealed for action from the county council to help prevent it happening again.

However after testing the road the authority says no re-surfacing in Main Street is required.

He said: “I am absolutely distraught – I don’t know where I can go from here.”

Worcestershire County Council carried out speed and skid tests on the road and said the results are at an “acceptable level”.

The council said it will be installing a flashing light to warn drivers of the bend.
