THIS is the tree that has been planted in Campden in celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

Chipping Campden WI presented a tree for the Ernest Wilson Memorial Garden to commemorate the special occasion. The tree, a Chinese tupelo, was originally introduced into Britain by the celebrated plant hunter Ernest Wilson, who was born in Campden in 1876.

A spokesman said: “The small and delightful walled garden in the centre of Campden is a haven of tranquillity for many visitors throughout the year, and is open from dawn to dusk.”
