Radio station set for 24-hour broadcasts

RADIO Winchombe is gearing up for its first full-time broadcast after Ofcom awarded the station a licence to be on the airwaves 24 hours a day.

The station will start broadcasting full-time from 7am on Friday, May 18, and there will be all the usual favourites returning along with the opportunity for new presenters and programmes with the extra hours available.

Programme schedules will be displayed on notice boards, in shops and on the website.

Test transmissions are now taking place on the new frequency 107.1 FM.

A curry evening to help raise money for the launch fund will be held at the Bombay Bugatti, in Gretton, near Winchcombe, on Sunday.
