A FAIR will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Rainbows being founded nationally.

Shipston Rainbows are also celebrating the 10th anniversary of leader, Diane Wildish, who started the group in the town.

To mark both these important dates Shipston Rainbows will be holding a summer birthday fair at the town’s scout hut grounds in Oxford Road, Shipston on Saturday from 1pm until 4pm.

Events will include activities such as archery, a bouncy castle, face painting and a raffle as well as various stalls including cakes and refreshments.

There will also be a visit from mini-beasts between 3pm and 4pm.

All money raised will go towards supporting Shipston Rainbows activities and buying extra equipment for the group.

Rainbow leader Diane Wildish said: “I’m delighted that the group I started with just a few girls in 2007 has grown to our present number of 14 girls aged five to seven years old.

"We organise lots of very varied activities at our Monday evening meetings and also do outings for the girls ranging from theatre visits to making campfires, building dens in the wood and growing vegetables in an allotment.

"Anyone interested in finding out more about Rainbows or wanting to join the waiting list for membership should contact me through the Girl Guiding website.

"We look forward to seeing as many past and present Rainbows and their families as possible at our special birthday fair on 15 July.”
