SCHOOL pupils put their own slant on a well-known Shakespeare play.
Children from reception to year six at Dormer House Primary School performed Macbeth on stage at Chipping Norton Theatre, directed by drama teacher Emily Scates.
Fergus Cronin, who played the part of Macbeth, recently won a drama scholarship to Dean Close school in Cheltenham.
Children as young as 4 and 5 confidently joined in the production as court jesters.
Joanna Higgins, Chipping Norton Youth theatre director watched the performance, and told the school: "The complex narrative was clearly told, featured some very strong performers, and visually looked great.
"The movement sections were really creative, really good to watch and I enjoyed the song lyrics and inclusion of a live band.
"I watched your year 6s as they prepare to move on into less safe waters and do so hope that other teachers in other places will offer them similarly special experiences."
