A NEW heating and lighting system will be set up at Lower Swell Village Hall.
Work is set to begin at the village hall after a grant was given by Gloucestershire Environmental Trust for £3,847.50.
Lower Swell Village Hall is a charity and one of the conditions of the grant was that the village hall committee of volunteers needed to raise £1,624.50 towards the project’s full cost of £5,472.00.
Lower Swell Village Hall committee chairman, Stephen Beer, said: "The hall is used regularly for fundraising events and by independent hirers, so the year round conditions will be much more comfortable for all concerned."
The village hall’s existing heating and lighting systems are old and expensive to run, with the new eco panel heaters and sweep fans to prove more economical and controllable ambient temperatures.
Work will now begin on the work on Tuesday May 23.
Once the installation work is finished, there will be an official presentation of the grant to Mr Beer by the Gloucestershire Environmental Trust.
