A MOBILE bank branch will operate at a Bourton community centre when the last bank in the village closes.
Bourton Parish Council has confirmed that Lloyds Bank will locate a mobile branch at the George Moore Community Centre, following the decision to close the branch in September.
Bourton is without an ATM machine after raiders using a JCB ripped out the Lloyds cash machine.
The council also said that a cashpoint will be installed at the new Co-Op store, when it moves in the autumn to Station Road.
A spokesman for the council said: “The parish council has approved a request from Lloyds Bank to locate a mobile branch at the George Moore Community Centre following the closure of the local branch in September.
“It is likely that the mobile unit will be located at the centre each Monday 9.30am-noon, Wednesday 1.15pm-3.30pm and Friday 9.30pm-noon but this has yet to be confirmed by Lloyds.
“The council is also liaising with other banks to try to encourage another banking services provider into the village.
“The council understands that the Co-Op will be replacing the cash point at its current store as soon as structural issues have been resolved, and that a 24/7 cash point will also be installed at the new store, once open.
“No news from Lloyds on theirs.”
