THE traditional pageantry of the hunt was on display in Broadway on Boxing Day.
Thousands of people lined the streets of the stone-build Cotswold village to cheer on the hounds, horses and riders of the North Cotswold Hunt.
The traditional Boxing Day meet attracted about 90 riders, many clad in the traditional hunting pink, who assembled at the hunt's kennel in Broadway High Street.
Gina Mill, the hunt secretary, said: "We've been having our meets on Boxing Day in Broadway for many years, and people always turn out to see us.
"There must have been about 3,000 people there and its quite something to see them lined up three or four deep on both sides of the High Street to cheer you on."
As well as enjoying mulled wine and mince pies, members of the hunt collected money from the crowd for the Midlands Air Ambulance.
Mrs Mills said: "We raised about £2,000, which is great. We are keen supporters of the air ambulance and always fund-raise for it at our Boxing Day and New Year's Day meets and hunt balls."
The hunt was founded in 1867 and so will be celebrating its 150th birthday in 2017.
The hunt’s country, which is centred on Broadway, covers some 250 square miles of the northern end of Gloucestershire and the southern corner of Worcestershire.
