TRUSTEES, staff and pupils at a Cotswold school are paying their respects to a "dear friend" and former teacher who has died.

Cornelia Starks taught Latin, Ancient Greek and French at Dormer House School, in Moreton-in-Marsh, and was also a school trustee.

A spokesman for the school, in High Street, said: "Her contributions to school life were immense, whether teaching Latin, Ancient Greek or French, listening to recitations or serving on the education committee.

"She was a wise and loyal trustee, who gave so much in the interest of the children and the life of the school. She will be dearly missed."

A Requiem Mass will be held at Blackfriars Priory in Oxford at 10.30am on Thursday, December 15, followed by a private interment at Broadwell Church.

Family, friends, staff members and former pupils of the teacher are invited to attend Dormer House School at 1pm for refreshments.
