A WOMAN had her head shaved to raise money for a charity supporting terminally ill patients.

Christine Dudfield, of Cherington near Shipston-on-Stour, volunteered to have her head shaved to support Shipston Home Nursing, which was instrumental in the care for here sister-in-law Rita.

The charity, which has been running since 1997, carers for terminally ill people who want to be nursed at home.

It is run by qualified nurses specialising in palliative care.

On Saturday, October 8, with the support of friends and family looking on, her daughter Lois, who is a hairdresser, shaved Mrs Dudfield's head.

Overall the fundraiser managed to raise an impressive £3,000.

Mrs Dudfield said: "Shipston Home Nurses were so good to my sister-in-law Rita.

"They show so much care and compassion so I want to raise a substantial amount of money to thank them for what they did.

"Please support me for this most worthy charity.”
