YOUNGSTERS at Chipping Norton School were given the chance to have their photos taken with prestigious rugby trophies.

Pupils at the Burford Road-based school learned about the history of the RBS Six Nations and Triple Crown trophies before they were brought into the school.

Triple crowns are awarded to a home nation beating all the others during the tournament, and the overall trophy is awarded to the Six Nations winners.

England's name was engraved on the trophies earlier this year, coming courtesy of their Grand Slam in the tournament.

Students enjoyed having their photos taken with their representative teams, as well as with their own county cup.

The school's under 14 team enjoyed success this year, progressing from local and regional finals to the South of England State School Final.

Judith Bovington, from the school, said: "The presence of these magnificent trophies at the school will hopefully inspire the students to continue to enjoy their sports and maybe represent the county or even England in the future."
