A FORTNIGHT of eclectic music came to a spectacular close at the annual Shipston-on-Stour Proms.

Crowds of party-goers flocked to the Goin' Local Street Party finale in Shipston market square on Saturday, which included music from Kinky Farnham and Wired.

The final night was hosted by Tom Porter, event chair, while Shipston Mayor Councillor Ronnie Murphy drew the winning tickets in the Proms Grand Draw raffle.

Now in it's 18th year, the Shipston Proms featured a jam-packed schedule of performances by a wide variety of musicians.

During the two-week event, artists including singer songwriter Andrew Duhon, Duke, Incognito and Debbie Bond performed.

There were open mic nights, concerts and recitals - including a organ music at St Edmund's Church by Charles Matthews.

Meanwhile, Helen Porter provided musical direction at the Young Musicians Concert at St Martin's Church, Barcheston.

On Friday night, fans of musical theatre enjoyed a Songs from the Shows concert featuring Stratford-upon-Avon based Soprano Victoria Wilson.

The show included a duet from Moulin Rouge sun by brother and sister act Charlotte Haines and Jamie Wright, managed by Helen Porter.

Later on Friday evening, 3rd Dimension performed at George Inn in Lower Brailes, while Folkin' Friday played at the Cherington Arms.

At the Tredington Fayre on Saturday afternoon, which was part of the Shipston Proms, there was music from Shanade, the Soul Traders and Jabba Cartel.

This week the award winning, and Shipston resident, blues guitarist Laurence Jones will be running a musical workshop at Shipston High School, with support from Proms committee.

After a well-earned rest, the Shipston Proms committee will hold a post-event review before looking at the dates for 2017.
