YOUNGSTERS at a Upper Tysoe nursery have observing one of natures most amazing sights, when a caterpillar turns into butterfly.
Children at Winchcombe Farm Day Nursery, in Shenington Road-based nursery, have been studying the life cycle of butterflies and saw for themselves how three caterpillars formed into pupas, then emerged as butterflies.
The nursery's manager, Rachel Giorgio, said: "This was a fun activity aimed at helping the children understand life cycles.
"We successfully hatched three butterflies using a special kit from Insect Lore that made the whole process interactive and very visual for young children to follow.
"We’ve been looking at the caterpillars each day and talking about how they’ve changed and what is different about them as they develop.
"The children were very excited about releasing them from their net, and we waved them goodbye."
