HOTEL boss Paul Davis is back to running the inns and hotels in his charge, after pounding around the streets of the capital in marathon mode.

The 53-year-old keen runner who is managing director of Cotswold Inns and Hotels, powered his way around the 26.2 London Marathon circuit in a respectable time of 4.51.36 to raise more than £7,800 for Acorns Children's Hospice Trust.

The trust runs three hospices, one of which is in Worcester.

Running on behalf of Cotswold Inns and Hotels, which has nine establishments within the Cotswolds, including The Broadway, in Broadway, and the Manor House, in Moreton, Mr Davis was thrilled to smash his £5,000 target.

It has taken the hotel group's fundraising total for Acorns to more than £30,000 in the past five years.

More sponsorship is likely to come in but Mr Davis was particularly keen to thank those who have already donated including work colleagues, family, friends and suppliers, plus some great initiatives from the hotels.

“Having recently visited Acorns, in Worcester, I have seen how much their fantastic services rely on fundraising like this," Mr Davis explained. "I’ve been overwhelmed by the generosity of all those who have donated and we’re delighted to be helping Acorns to refurbish their sensory room with these funds. It has all been thoroughly worth it, thank you.”
