A SOUTH Warwickshire constable has apologised to a Shipston pub for the disturbance he caused regulars during an arrest.

PC Craig Purcell posted on social media: "Sorry for turning Shipston's Horseshoe Pub into a blue light disco last night. The van I pulled over outside was being driven by a male with three Staffordshire court warrants out for his arrest. He was also wanted for questioning by a Warwickshire colleague in a fuel theft matter.

"At Leamington custody he was reported to Warwickshire Magistrates for the fuel theft and held in cells for transportation to Staffordshire courts today (Friday).

"He was definitely not the Messiah..."
