DORMER House School's cross country team excelled at a recent competition hosted by Chipping Campden School.

In the Year 3 and 4 boys’ race, Finlay Holland-Bird finished in second place, followed closely by Milo Moore who came in 12th. The boys came 5th overall in the team event.

In the Year 3 and 4 girls' race, Imogen Hynes finished an excellent fourth and she was joined by Poppy Kinch (12th), Isabelle Jelly (13th) and Georgia Wasdell (20th) in the top twenty. These placings ensured the Year 3 and 4 girls finish third in their team event.

There was some really tough competition in the boys' Year 5 and 6 event but the Dormer boys dug deep and finished 6th overall.

However, the performance of the day was by Elsa Thwaites, who romped home in first place in the Year 5 and 6 girls’ event. This, together with some strong finishes from the other girls, meant that Dormer achieved third place in both girls' age groups.

Dormer's sports teacher Greg Stotesbury said: "Every member of the Dormer cross country squad put in a huge amount of effort and they achieved some exceptional individual and team results."
