ROUTES have been planned for Ebrington School's first Cotswold Charity Cycle challenge on Sunday April 19.

The event will raise money for outdoor equipment for the children as well as provide a fun and challenging day for parents, friends and cycling enthusiasts.

There is also planned to be a famous face among entrants as Team GB age group top triathlete Jane Hansom has agreed to take part in the 50k and 100k races.

Among her achievements are winning the Snowman and Sandman triathlons and running marathons in under three hours.

All routes cover the most spectacular scenery in the North Cotswolds.

The Ebrington Arms pub is helping out with the day by offering the use of its beer garden where members of the PTFA will be serving refreshments including bacon butties and homemade cakes.

There will also be a raffle with prizes including a month’s gym membership (Meon Vale Leisure Centre, Mickleton), a personal training session and sports massage thanks to Freestyle 360 Indoor and Outdoor Gym, in Blockley.

Time is running out to sign-up in advance but on the day registration is still possible. The route is fully marked with aid stops on route supplying refreshments.

Registration forms can be download at: http://www.theebringtonarms.co.uk/pub/cotswold-charity-cycle/ or by emailing ebringtonptfa@gmail.com to receive a form directly. Forms can also be filled out in person at the Ebrington Arms. In addition, donations in support of the event can be made at: https://www.justgiving.com/ebringtonptfacycle/

On the day registration can be made from 8am with the first riders setting off at 8.30am and the last at 10.30am.

The 50k ride starts at the Ebrington Arms and finishes at Killlingworth Castle, Wooton, with an aid stop at 25k.

The 100k ride starts and finishes at the Ebrington Arms with an extra aid stop at 75k.

The entry fee is £25 with all donations going to the school's equipment fund.
