A PAIR of carers at a Cotswold care home have been applauded for their years of service helping older people and those with long-term illnesses.

Julie Miles has been working at Southerndown care home in Worcester Road, Chipping Norton, since March 2000 while her colleague Christina Estaban started five years later, giving them a total of 25 years service combined.

The home’s manager Mandy Vettraino paid tribute to the pair, both senior carers.

“They have demonstrated their dedication and loyalty to our home and the residents year after year,” she said.

“I speak for all of us here at Southerndown when I say that I’m looking forward to many more years of working with them both.”

Saying she was “delighted” to hear the news, head of HR at Barchester Healthcare – the organisation running Southerndown - Jane McFarlane said: “It is dedication like this that ensures our residents are provided with a happy place to live”.
