YEAR 9 students have been tasked with coming up with innovative ideas to bring people into Shipston as part of an enterprise challenge.

The 13 to 14-year-olds from Shipston High School will be taking part in the challenge on March 18.

More than 90 students will be working with local business people in the school hall including Genesis DM, Barclays, Dandelime, Sheldon Bosley, Wright Hassall, RSA Training, C M Communications, Burgis and Bullock and the NFU.

The event will give the students the opportunity to develop their team working, listening, communication and leadership skills. They will also have the chance to improve their presentation skills when they present their ideas to a panel of judges later in the day.

Shipston Town Mayor, Philip Vial will also be in attendance to hear the students’ ideas and to see their work.

"Business people who support these events are increasingly aware that these experiences are very worthwhile for both themselves and the students," said Councillor Vial.

The day is developed and delivered by Maffey Associates who provide opportunities for young people to learn about business to help better prepare them for the world of work.
