VULNERABLE people across the Cotswolds are being encouraged to sign up to a 24 hour emergency monitoring and contact service which operates throughout the Cotswolds.
Originally established by Cotswold District Council 25 years ago, Cotswold Careline offers round the clock access to a trained operator, this service provides subscribers with the reassurance and support they need to help them live independently in their own homes.
The service is now run by the Forest of Dean District Council alongside it’s pre-existing service supporting vulnerable people, Forest Linkline. For the alarm unit and pendant, including monitoring, the weekly charge is £4.34, including VAT.
Subscribers have a personal transmitter which can trigger a call to the monitoring centre via a Careline alarm box where trained personnel will respond appropriately, providing the help required. After assessing the situation, the operators will offer reassurance and inform nominated contacts or, if needed, emergency services.
