A BBC TV chef who is also proprietor of a Cotswold pub is the special guest at Temple Guiting 's Christmas Fayre on Saturday in aid of the village school.

As well as a visit from Father Christmas, Emily Watkins from BBC’s Great British Menu, and chef proprietor of the Kingham Plough, will be there selling some of her Christmas specialities such as home-made venison and fennel salami, medlar jelly, black-pudding and chocolate & salted caramel truffles.

Organiser Sophia Upton said: “Building on the popularity of our annual summer fete, we’re pleased to be able to offer a traditional Christmas village fayre, with lots of present stalls, raffle, tombola and plenty of seasonal refreshments.”

Refreshments will be in abundance as well as Emily Watkins’ hand-made ready to eat Scotched eggs and hand-raised pork pies.

Stalls include Temple Guiting Christmas puddings and brandy butter, Lovett pies, Ella’s toy shop, Alexandra Woods artist, puppets, Adam Tatlow wildlife photography, Pampered Chef cookware and bespoke jewellery.

Children are well catered for, with the chance to decorate cupcakes, make magic sand decorations, and try their luck on the chocolate tombola.

The fayre will be held in the village hall from noon until 3pm.
