AN annual craft fayre raising money for a little girl with only half a heart is to take place in Childswickham this weekend.

Bethan Edwards was born with a serious heart condition called hypoplastic left heart Syndrome in 2004 and underwent open heart surgery at Birmingham Children’s Hospital at just three days old.

During her life the brave youngster, who is now ten-years-old, has had at least three open heart surgeries, suffered six heart attacks and contracted two life-threatening bouts of septicaemia.

Despite this she has continued to fight but at some point will require a heart transplant.

Each year, in a bid to raise money for Birmingham Children's Hospital, the family hold a craft event, which has grown in size, with last year's fayre raising £1,200.

This year the event, run by Cosy Heart Crafts, the company set up by Mandy Edwards, Bethan's mum, and her mother Janice Hurst, will take place on Saturday, November 15, at Leedons Park, Childswickham, near Broadway from 10.30am until 3.30pm.
