TEN tonnes of tyres were damaged in a fire in the Cotswolds this morning.
Gloucestershire Fire & Rescue Service was called just before 6am to Lower Slaughter, near Bourton, following reports from residents who could see a large plume of smoke coming from the area.
Firefighters from Stow and Moreton attended and used two main jets to control the blaze which was out in the open in a field.
Crews were on scene for several hours dealing with the incident.
A spokesman for the fire service said the fire was not thought to be suspicious.
