Rugby win for Stow school
GLOUCESTERSHIRE Police's first ever Tag Rugby Tournament proved to be a premiership affair for school children across the county as local sporting heroes watched on.
Pupils from 15 schools took part in the tournament at Hartpury College on Friday (2), which was held in conjunction with the national Child Victims of Crime Charity.
Gloucester Rugby team players Marco Bortoloni, Lesley Vainikolo and James Forrester all took time out of their busy training schedules to meet some of the young players, sign autographs and pass on some winning tips.
Stow Primary School were victorious on the day and won the Plate.
Detective Inspector Simon Atkinson, who organised the event, said: "The tournament was a huge success and we are hoping to run this event again next year.
"The children really enjoyed themselves and gave confident performances and really embraced the ethos of the day which was to work as a team, respect each other and enjoy in a safe environment."
Special guest centre back from Gloucester Rugby club Jack Adams presented each child with a medal and certificate at the end of the day as well as the winners trophies.
