Official opening for Blockley shop
BLOCKLEY was buzzing with activity during its Mayday festival as residents came together to celebrate the opening of the village shop and cafe.
Local actor Dudley Sutton cut the ribbon at the official opening of the Blockley Village Shop and Cafe on Saturday (3) in front of a crowd of well-wishers.
He also performed in a concert that was held in the afternoon to mark the culmination of a long campaign to save the shop and post office.
Morris dancers and a fete with 20 stalls and games provided entertainment throughout the day along with a barbecue, beer tent and a helium balloon race.
The May Queen was also crowned on the day.
