Round-up
Eco town debate live
STRATFORD District Council's full council meeting on the proposed eco-town development next week will be broadcast live on the internet.
The meeting is being held on Monday, May 12 at 2pm at the District Council offices in Stratford-upon-Avon, with the live feed available on the council's website at www.stratford.gov.uk.
People will be able to watch the webcast live or view recordings later whenever they want. Those who do not have internet at home will be able to watch the webcast from a local library instead, although it is advised members of the public check availability with their library first.
The recordings will also be held on the website for those who cannot log in for the live coverage.
Paul Lankester, chief executive on Stratford District Council, said: "Due to the high public interest in the proposed eco-town development the District Council has decided to show the meeting on the web.
"This will enable as many people as possible to view the proceedings live or at a time that suits them, from their workplace, home or anywhere else with access to the internet.
"Webcasts are an excellent way to give the wider community an insight into local democracy. it will provide everyone with an opportunity to view local decision making affecting their community, and eventually we hope to enable local people to ask questions during the debate and have them answered within minutes."
